I had to have my 9 year old cat Buster put to sleep today July 19, 2008. I feel like someone is ripping my heart out. My cat had a problem with her right knee so my vet put her on Metacam for the inflammation. I had never heard of Metacam so I asked the vet what side effects there where or what I should watch for. My vet told me (QUOTE) nothing if she is not walking on her leg in two weeks call us and bring her back.

I trusted my vet and never thought they would hurt my pets my babies. They had her on this Metacam for thirteen days. Within the thirteen days my cat stopped eating, drinking, lost four pounds and just stopped being her fun playful self. So I started investigating this medication and I woke my husband up at 4am on July 19, 2008 and told him our cat was dying from kidney failure due to Metacam. I don't think he truly believed me.

Today July 19, 2008 I took my cat to the vet at 7am when their doors opened and told them my cat was dying from Kidney and possibly liver failure due to the Metacam they prescribed her. The vet assistants said (Quote) you don't know that let us look at her and do some blood work. So when the doctor arrived at 8am he came in and said Buster has Kidney Failure so bad her numbers are off the charts.

I told the doctor it was from the Metacam. He said he would look into it. Metacam killed my cat Buster. She had blood work drawn on July 7, 2008 and her shots at that time she was a perfectly beautiful and healthy 15 pound cat. Here a couple weeks later after being put on Metacam for 13 days she is in full Kidney Failure. (Don't tell this Metacam didn't kill her). Please trust no vet with your pets lives. I have lived and learned a hard lesson from this experience with Metacam and I will research all medicine for now on before letting any vet give my pet’s shots or medicine. Please help me spread the word about how dangerous Metacam is and how it is a silent and quick killer..
