My Melvyn had a stroke and had problems walking. He had a thorough workup and everything was fine. He was prescribed Metacam and within one week started losig weight and became lethargic. I took him back to the vet and he’s in kidney failure and his liver function is off — in one week!! That was 3 drops of Medicam every other day! He spent the weekend in the kitty hospital and is home but won’t eat or drink. I questioned whether I should give it to him initially because the directions say for dogs only. I was assured it was safe.
